How to practise eighth-note triplets with the metronome
The BPM still measures quarter-note beats. Triplet mode places three equal clicks inside each beat; at 60 BPM, those clicks are 333.3 milliseconds apart.
Count every equal part
Say “1-trip-let, 2-trip-let” and place one syllable on each click. Do not squeeze the middle click toward either edge of the beat.
Compare two and three
Switch between the two-click eighth-note grid and the three-click triplet grid without changing BPM. The beat stays fixed while only its subdivision changes.
